Additional Support for our clients

We offer help beyond a food parcel. Find out more about additional services and support.

For the next five years, the Trussell Trust will be looking to address the issues forcing people to use foodbanks by prioritising three areas of work: changing communities, changing minds, and changing policy.

Our goal is a fairer society where nobody wonders where their next meal is coming from or must rely on the kindness of their community in order to put food on their table. At Chipping Barnet Foodbank, we aim to do this by expanding the level of support on offer, by providing for the local community beyond our food parcels. This means the development of an inclusive service which provides for more than food and helps people address the underlying issues behind their crisis.

Citizens Advice Barnet

We now have a Citizens Advice Barnet Adviser available at the foodbank while we are open on a Tuesday between 12pm and 2pm and on a Saturday between 10am and 12pm.

They are able to provide free advice and support to our clients on a range of problems, such as with work, debt, benefits, immigration, housing and more. They are able to help everyone who lives, works or studies in Barnet.

Fuel & Supermarket Vouchers

The foodbank has the capacity to provide additional assistance to clients with fuel and supermarket vouchers. Please contact us via the foodbank email address to find out more about this support.

Barnet Food Hub

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Barnet Together and London Borough of Barnet have collaborated to provide support for the local communities’ response. This involves providing supplies to foodbanks and local organisations, resulting in the establishment of the Barnet Food Hub to support food security in Barnet.

Currently the foodbank collects a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables every Thursday. These items are available to clients picking up food parcels during our opening house.
