Chipping Barnet Foodbank awarded National Lottery funding for Client Signposting Service

1st March 2026

Chipping Barnet Foodbank is delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, made possible thanks to National Lottery players.

The funding will support our Client Signposting Service, enabling us to continue the vital work of our Client Signposting Lead, who helps people visiting the foodbank access the wider support they need.

While emergency food provides immediate relief, many people who come to the foodbank are facing complex challenges including debt, benefit issues, housing instability, mental health difficulties and isolation. Our signposting service connects clients with specialist support organisations including advice services, healthcare providers and community groups so they can address the underlying causes of their crisis.

Last year, this service supported around 600 individuals and families, helping them access the help they need and reducing repeat visits to the foodbank.

This funding will also allow us to train volunteers in signposting, strengthening our team so we can provide consistent, high-quality support to everyone who comes through our doors.

Victoria Miller, Foodbank Manager at Chipping Barnet Foodbank, said:

“Food is often just the starting point. Many people who come to us are facing a range of challenges, and our signposting service helps connect them with the support they need to move beyond crisis. We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and to National Lottery players for making this work possible.”

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players for supporting our work and helping communities to thrive.
