Winter Statement 2020

23rd November 2020

We’d like to update our supporters in the run up to Christmas, so that the efforts of our donors can be utilised to their full potential, and our capacity to maintain current operations at the foodbank is not jeopardised.

In light of this we must say that generally our stocks levels are good thanks to the generosity of our donors throughout the year. In order to maintain social distancing, we have to restrict the number of volunteers working together, so we are asking for focussed and timely donations for our clients at Christmas time.

We need tinned salmon; tinned ham and chicken; tinned fruit.
We don’t need mince pies; Christmas puddings.

Please ensure all Christmas deliveries are with us by Saturday 12th December.

To donate a Reverse Christmas Advent Calendar, please also deliver by 12th December.

We will be providing a Christmas Angels service to our clients this year. This will involve delivering ALDI orange vouchers and book tokens in a CBFB Christmas Card. If you would like to support the purchase of these items instead of donating food to the foodbank, we would be most appreciative. This initiative will run into the New Year.

Financial donations allow us to replenish specific shortages and contribute to the ongoing operational costs of the foodbank at a time when our shelves are well stocked.

If you are able to make a delivery in January or February this will help us smooth out our operations and ensure clients are supported after Christmas.

Additionally, we’d like to thank you for thinking of volunteering with us at this challenging time for us all, however, we are not currently training new volunteers. We also don’t have any vacancies for seasonal volunteers. Next year we will advertise on our website and social media when the next training session will be held.
